My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Awesome! I got grilled chicken breast & turnip greens. Delicious! Fabulous bread pudding. Karen our waitress took great care of us.

The food, service and atmosphere were amazing! The CFS and mashed and homemade rolls were the best. The chicken & dressing was excellent and Karen was an amazing hostess. We will be back.

Outstanding! Very good breakfast! The pecan french toast was oh sooo good! Prices are just right & the decor was in good taste. I did not see dust on any pictures or cobwebs in any corners. Very clean. The waitress was really nice & polite.

This cafe was wonderful!! I had the plate lunch special which consisted of your choice of chicken fried steak chicken fried chicken or chicken and dressing. I chose the chicken fried steak which was phenomenal. Also had the pinto beans mashed potatoes and gravy as well as a side of turnip greens. All was wonderful. If you want a home cooked meal, this is the place to go

My whole family enjoyed our entire visit. The atmosphere is so welcoming and educational for the kiddos. The food is amazing and our waitress, Karen, was exceptional. She was great! We will definitely be back when we come back this way!

Stoped by on our way back to Waco. We do transport and we came to try it because of the reviews. Staff was awesome Amy was our waitress and she rocked. We had the Top Hand special breakfast. Wow off the hook. The pancakes are the best I've ever had. Stop and check it out..you won't be disappointed.

What a cute little place! The staff is VERY welcoming, the food is delicious, and the sweet tea is LEGIT. 10/10 The atmosphere is homey and the building has this historic vibe. I got the chicken fried steak! Was not disappointed! I will definitely be back!

Customer service is friendly, it's a very clean and cozy restaurant to come and eat with friends or family. I had the hamburger steak and fried okra and it was very delicious! Second time coming to pioneer cafe and I was not disappointed. I'll be back for sure !

This cafe is about 5 miles off the freeway but well worth the drive. Located in an old historical building and decorated with Texas country charm. The waitress was great and even made me a fresh pot of decaf coffee even though breakfast service was just about over. We ordered the steak omelette and there was no skimping on the steak. Very generous portions. There are quaint shops to browse in around the courthouse square. Very enjoyable stop on our travels.

We came in with a group of 14. We had adults, teens, and kids. Our waitress' name was Karen and she was right on top of things. She greeted us at the door and never made us feel like there were too many in our group. She kept our drinks full and was always checking on us. Sometimes the people who take care of you make your experience so much better. 5 stars

We travel over an hour to come here and it is WORTH IT! This place has the BEST pecan cobbler I've ever had and every meal we've had has been incredible. The chicken fried steak is a favorite of mine now and their turnip greens are seasoned perfectly! We've also met the owner who seems very passionate about her cafe, from her staff that seem to love their jobs, to the awesome rustic decor and, the food that's even more impressive the Pioneer Cafe is fantastic!
